Title: “Bear Wants Honey”

This piece is inspired from chapter 1 of A.A. Milne’s “Winnie The Pooh” book.
Why did I paint this?  Well, long story short….a publisher asked me to illustrate this book.  I read the book, created a story board, and got to work.  But something happened early in the project and they cancelled it when I was finishing up the 2nd illustration.  So no, this will not appear in a book – but I’m making it available for anyone who loves the story, or just loves little honey seeking bears.

Peter Rabbit Book

I pre-ordered the book and it came a little early!  I’m so pleased with how it turned out!  I am posting a few pics of the actual book below.  The illustrated pages are full color pages, and it comes with a nice full color graphic dust jacket as well.  Currently the book is only available as a hardcover.  If anyone is interested it purchasing a copy, they are available on Amazon and also at Barnes and Noble for $12.99.  I’m also going to post a few signed copies in my etsy shop.  These will be a little higher priced than through the book store as I am purchasing these full price at the bookstore myself.  Anyhow, some requested signed copies, so I’ll try to keep some in stock over the next month or so. 🙂

I announced this over on my facebook page back in September, but I’m going to make a post over here too now that it is getting closer.  I illustrated Beatrix Potter’s “Peter Rabbit” this year and it is set to release January 16, 2018!

The book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon here!  You can also find it on the Barnes and Noble website as well.  I have already started to offer the original illustrations.  All were done on 14×18 stretched canvas in acrylic paint.  The first 3 have sold, and I will be posting more soon.  If you are interested in obtaining one, please subscribe to my Art Alerts here, as this is specifically for collectors who want to know when originals are made available.

A Tiny Taxi – Original Book Illustration + Book!

My penny auction this week is an original painting that was specifically made for an illustration in the book “House”.  Almost all the illustrations for that book were painted on canvas as I wanted that textured look for the full color pages.  Most of the originals sold at art shows when the book was first released.  I kept “A Tiny Taxi” for my personal collection, but have decided to part with it so someone else could enjoy this fun story.  This auction includes a soft cover copy of the book which I have signed on the inside.
