Update:  Sold to a collector in Israel
This week’s penny auction has been pulled from my personal collection. From my Beauty Of Imagination Series, is this fashionable early 20th century girl piece titled, “The Early Bird”. She is a bookworm as you can see….and a little red bird has joined her this early wintery day.  So that is how the title came about….the early bird gets the “bookworm”. I suppose it enjoys listening to the stories.  This young woman’s portrait was painted against a cool blue backdrop with a subtle line and small window to put her indoors. Like all the girls from this series, her portrait is painted with an illustrative simplicity.  To see more you can visit the auction here.
