At long last….(I think it’s been over a decade), I’m making ACEO’s again. Never heard of them? I’ll explain. ACEO stands for ‘Art Cards Editions & Originals’. Sometimes they are called ATC’s ‘Artist Trading Cards’. So, collector cards basically, but made by artists. The rules of ACEO’s – 1) they must measure 3.5 x 2.5 inches. 2) They can be any medium (paint, pencil, chalk, pastels, ink, or any other tangible item you can stick to a surface that size). 3) They must be made by the artist.
These first ones that I am working on will be mixed media – primarily colored pencil with added paint and ink. The colored pencils I use are Caran D’Ache Luminance. Why does it matter you know this….it doesn’t really. But let me explain anyway as some high info collector or artist out there might be wondering. The pencils I use are highly pigmented and light resistant (lightfast). In other words, bold bright colors and colors should look the same for 100 years. So each piece is a miniature work of art. Mine get an added coating of fixative to protect the pencil work, and I mount mine to a 4 ply backer board to give it more of a card feel. They are also signed, titled, and dated on the back. Below are the first 8.
#1 – “Apple!” – SOLD
#2 – “Flower!” – SOLD
#3 – “Look What I Can Do!” – SOLD
#4 – “Friends” – SOLD

#5 – “It’s Fall Y’all” – SOLD
#6 – “Beep Beep”
#7 – “Up To No Good” – SOLD
#8 – “Fall Breeze” – SOLD

You can frame them, or get a card collecting book and keep them safe all in one place. Visit eBay and search ACEO to view thousands upon thousands of them, and you can see what available through me over in my eBay shop here 🙂
Thanks for checking out the art! -Cindy
