News and New Canvas Prints

This month and for the rest of the year I am busy working on new originals for an upcoming show this spring happening in Taipei again.  This year it’s a “sea” of imagination here in the studio 🙂   Some pieces have been posted, more to come over the next few months.

I’ve also updated my website to include a few new features.
Shop and Studio View. is now linked up to my etsy shop, so you can shop direct from my website.  The final check-out happens on etsy, but now you don’t have to go find me there.  Just click the “Store” link on my site to see what’s new.  All items that ship from my studio are on hand and typically ship out next business day.  “Studio View” is another new section where I post photos of what’s been happening in the studio.  These postings usually happen after midnight (the only time I seem to be able to get paintings done these days).  So if you want to see what’s in the works before I post them, visit that section of my site.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I am currently offering signed canvas prints.  These are not limited editions, but I only carry them periodically so quantities are limited.  These gloss finished giclée reproductions are professionally printed on a tight weave canvas that produce a rich and clear printed image of the original .  Special ink coating is used to protect the image and also to provide the surface with fade resistance for 75+ years.   Each measures 12″ x 12″ and comes wired and ready to hang.  I sign each print on the front – and pencil sign and title the back of the canvas.  Below are the select works currently available.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!  -Cindy

Summer News – art shows, gallery, projects, new art

Sorry, it’s been a month since my last post.  I’ve been meaning to update new happenings and artwork for a while.  I’ll try to be brief and just bullet point the latest news from the past month….

Boston’s Children’s Hospital
This past week I finished up a large 24×24 piece that will hang at Boston’s Children’s Hospital!  Hoping to get it shipped out this coming week to them.

Art Revolution Taipei International Juried Art Show
Art Revolution Taipei was a success this past May as all 13 pieces sold at the show.  Shortly after the show ended, I received my 3rd invitation to come back for  2014.  I gladly accepted and will be working on 20 new pieces the rest of this year.

Atlanta Area Art Festival
I said I was not going to do any outdoor shows for 2013, but I decided to accept the invitation to the Johns Creek Fest which is happening this October.  Several people who came out to Acworth and Dunwoody in 2012 had asked why I didn’t have the art blocks…..don’t worry, I’ll have the art blocks this year at Johns Creek.  I’ve already started working on them this summer and hope to have both the 3.5″ size, the 7.25″ size, as well as some landscape sized ones for a bookshelf.  Due to the distance, it is always possible that something may keep me away (aka hurricane season).  I’ll be sure to post an update on this as it get’s closer.

Orlando Art Gallery
While I still sell originals and prints direct from me, my art is also now available locally at a new gallery located in the College Park area.  Gallery On The Edge offers an array of unique handmade items, fine art, and is connected to a hip retro furniture shop called Atomic Junkies.  Right now they carry some of my originals, limited edition signed prints, and art blocks.  If you love shopping etsy, you’ll love this store!

Book Illustration Project
Last month some missionary friends who live in the remote interior of Papua New Guinea asked if I would be willing to illustrate a series of children’s books for an ongoing project they are working on.  I’ll elaborate on this more on this at a later time, but basically this is what I am working on in all my in between time from what I just mentioned above.

Available Art
As you can see, June filled my year up fast.  As always though, I’ll still try to make available original art throughout the year direct from me.  Below are a couple of original works currently available in my etsy shop.  Both girls ship installed in a black wooden floater frame, wired and ready to hang.

January 2013 News

Happy New Year!  Just some news for 2013 since it has been a while since my last post.  I’ve got info on art shows, crafty things I’m working on, as well as something about Dodo birds….

Art Shows
Weekend Festivals:  Since 2010 I have headed up to the Atlanta area for the Norcross, Dunwoody, and Acworth Art Festivals.  Unfortunately this year I decided to decline them mainly due to logistical reasons.  As of right now, 2013 will not include any regional festivals.  Hoping to do some festivals in 2014 in the Florida panhandle area, and maybe here in Orlando.

International Juried Art Show:  I have been invited back to Art Revolution Taipei’s 2013 International Art Show, and have been busy preparing a bunch of paintings to send over to them.  Creating the paintings, all back and forth communication involved, and getting everything ready, packed, and shipped actually involves a lot more work than my normal art projects.  So January continues to be a busy month, and new originals will probably not show up until these are all out the door.

Art Goods
I’ve been prepping for some new artsy whatnots for the etsy shop.  No real details at this point, other than I’ll say wood blocks have been cut and some jewelry supplies have arrived in.  If you like little artsy giftables, stay tuned as I usually only do these once a year (if that).  I’ll also be making some smaller paintings as some of you have requested those too.

Lastly…iPad Cases
I came across a company called DodoCase, and loved their cases they make for devices.  They create quality book style cases using traditional book binding techniques and eco friendly durable materials.  I almost purchased one direct from their website, then I discovered they recently partnered with Zazzle which allows for interior image customization.  So I made one and received it a couple of weeks ago.  I love it so much I decided to license a few designs out from some handpicked past works.  Below are photos of how my case turned out.  Let me just add that I was not given this case by the company or asked to do any sort of write up (I wish), this is just me posting what I did.  If $89 is too steep of a price for an case, then do what I did and order during a sale…Zazzle has them often.  If I see a nice sale going on, I’ll be sure to post the code on my facebook page.  More designs to come and also iPhone 5 case designs will be made available soon as well.
